How to lift drooping cheekbones?

Unfortunately, we are not all equal when it comes to sagging skin.

The cheeks are a part of the face, synonymous with youth, which has become an obsession for women.

With age, the muscles of the face contract or over the years, while the fat diminishes in skinny patients or is in excess in overweight patients and the skin is systematically loosened and therefore in excess. The cheeks lose their tonicity and tend to sag.

Aging gives the face a sad and tired appearance, which can be improved by a combination of surgical and non-surgical techniques.

What causes sagging cheekbones?

The reasons for drooping cheekbones are diverse. They can be caused by weight loss, genetics, nicotine, ultraviolet rays, and simply skin aging. As you age, the volume of the facial areas reduces, facial wrinkles appear and deepen as your skin loses its elasticity.

What are the solutions to lift the cheekbones?

Raising the cheekbones, whatever the cause, is possible. Without surgery, we can effectively reposition these famous drooping tissues upwards, correct the oval of the face, reposition the cheekbones and eyebrows….

Indeed, calling upon a qualified plastic surgeon in Paris who knows aesthetic medicine like Dr. Bergeret Galley in Paris will allow you to find solutions adapted to your face

Tissue repositioning techniques

Hyaluronic acid fillers allow the restoration of facial volumes, volume redistribution, cheekbone lift, cheekbone augmentation and amelioration of its projection. It helps to make the nasolabial folds less visible, allowes lip augmentation and remodelling (reshaping), profiloplasty, nasal dorsum augmentation, medical rhinoplasty, chin augmentation.

Lipofilling or fat injection:

Lipofilling of the face consists of performing a fat transfer, that is to say, fat is taken from a place on your body or body where it is in excess, it is taken in a harmonious way, so as to avoid unequal folds or retraction. Then this fat will be washed, sedimented, sometimes centrifuged and reinjected.

In general, there are two qualities of fat: a thicker fat and a more fluid fat. We talk about Microfat, Nanofat, Human Med technique, Body-Jet.

The excess fat is removed, treated and reinjected at the nose, chin, cheekbones, nasolabial folds on both sides of the lips, temples, upper root of the nose if necessary, tip of the nose and chin.

Tensor threads :

Le tensor threads: either absorbable or non-absorbable. Our recommendation is to start with the resorbable tensor threads. This allows us to see what can be achieved with a re-tensioning of the cheeks. The sutures are implanted in a triangular pattern, generally inserted through the temple and the lateral part of the face or in the nasolabial folds. They allow the entire cheek and part of the oval of the face to be tightened.

Permanent threads: same technique but they are implanted a little deeper. Be careful, permanent threads cannot be used indefinitely. If there is too much skin laxity, a surgical lift should be considered.

Surgical facelift or cervico-facial lift:

Surgical facelift or cervico-facial facelift: incisions are made in front of and behind the ears, extended into the scalp to re-tension the skin after having removed it according to the excess skin and then also re-tensioning the platysma, i.e. the pre-muscular skin underlayer which allows the volume of the cheekbones to be reharmonized, the cheekbones to be lifted and above all the oval of the face and neck to be raised. Tension is restored with detachments, flaps and folds fixed with permanent or absorbable threads.

Afterwards, the skin is re-draped, the excess of skin is removed and the sutures are made with very fine absorbable threads. At the end of the operation, a head and neck dressing is applied to shape and compress the skin.
